Eugene Wong
(he/him/his)
Hi! I am Eugene, a PhD candidate in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences at the University of Minnesota. I am also a Hongkonger, born and raised in Hong Kong and a native speaker of Cantonese.
My research focuses on using acoustic methods to study early speech and language development.
I work with Benjamin Munson on the acquisition of gender speech variation, and using early phonological knowledge to predict later language development. I also work with Kerry Ebert and Lizbeth Finestack on improving language assessment methods for bilingual children. You can learn more about my research here.
Before coming to the University of Minnesota, I worked as a lab manager in the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
